I’m excited to compare these two social media CRM solutions because I use one for my small business, while I manage my clients’ account on Hootsuite.
Stop searching for honest reviews, because you may never get one. The best approach you’ve to take is to learn from a customer – someone who is currently using the tool you’ve in mind. To make it clear to you, if infusionsoft is for sales automation, sprout & hoot are for social automation.
So, without much ado, let’s look at Sprout Social Vs. Hootsuite: the features, the benefits and as usual, I shall recommend the social media marketing tool that I prefer anytime and anywhere.
What is Sprout Social?
If you run/own a social business (meaning that you deal with customers on a regular basis), Sprout Social is the management and engagement platform you should seriously learn about.
It’s important that you learn its features, and not to jump on it because of the amazing site design.
More importantly, Sprout Social is a powerful platform that combines the power of analytics, customer database, effective scheduling and automation at different levels.
Also, you get to track everything – messages received and the response rate. The last message I sent to my twitter followers, I got a 65% Response Rate and it’s clearly spelt out. You can even improve on it with proper testing and analysis.
Don’t be confused by the terms and jargon that are sometimes used to explain the features of any social media platform.
Just understand that if you want to work less and have a tool that handles most of the daily tasks you’re involved in, like tweeting, sharing on facebook and Pinning to your Board (Pinterest), you may need to closely consider getting Sprout.
The benefits of Sprout Social over Hootsuite
For the past 7 months, I’ve been actively using Hootsuite and Sprout Social. But what I’ve discovered, which so many people don’t beat their heads over is that understanding your audience demographics is easier with Sprout.
I mean, by merely looking at your dashboard, you can see the demographics of your twitter followers, facebook fans and several other social media connections that you’ve built.
Personally, my twitter followers comprises of 57% males and 43% females. Hootsuite actually provides demographics, but you’ll have to click few buttons to fully understand who your target audience is.
To this, I give kudos to sprout developers – their simple and easy to use interface is second to none.
Ryan Baylis, founder of Icon Health and Fitness shared his success story recently. He said that he uses SproutSocial to manage 7 of the world’s leading fitness brands.
However, you don’t have believe us, because you’ve your own decisions to make. No matter what I say here, it may not make any difference, unless you make up your mind to try it. Yes, try it and if it doesn’t work for you, say goodbye to it.
What I don’t like about Sprout Social?
Yes, I still have my objections for using it. Of course I’ll recommend it, but that doesn’t mean it’s the best you can get out there.
Every day, you get to know how many twitter followers you’ve gotten. But the problem is that there is no clear pattern – what caused them to follow you? Which of your tweets inspired them to follow you?
Although they promise to help you engage your audience, but since you can’t successfully understand who these people are and what interests them, how on earth are you going to engage them. I found this really disturbing, and do hope that they’ll get better at it.
Remember that this is Sprout Social Vs. Hootsuite reviews. Actually, this is where Hootsuite does amazing job.
They analyse everything you need to know concerning your audience, the people who followed you on twitter, the fans you gained when you shared a particular post on Facebook and why people decided to connect with you on Google+
Hootsuite: An overview!
Hootsuite is the BIG owl of social media management. They claim that more than 10 million are already using their software and there is a free plan for everyone.
However, the free version is for personal use. If you want to use Hootsuite to grow your small business or website, you’ve to go pro. The pro version allows users to try the social CRM free for 30 days.
You can set up up 100 social profiles and you can connect with more than 35 popular social media networks like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Stumbleupon, Pinterest, Google+, Stumbleupon and so on.
You also have access to 10 or more advanced analytics reports. If you’ve a small business that you run with a team, Hootsuite is great for you as it can take up to 10 team members.
What I like about Hoot…
The future is more important for the small business owner than today. That’s why Hootsuite makes it possible for you to manage, organize and schedule future messages to improve your engagement.
Listening is the key to answering the most bugging questions of your audience. I told you earlier that Sprout Social doesn’t give clear insight on what people are saying about your brand, but Hootsuite does.
This social monitoring tool helps you find out the right words and intents of your audience so that you can engage them more efficiently.
In my opinion, there is a better security for reputation, financials and assets when you use Hoot, Sprout Social seems to be secured, but it’s not obvious to customers. Download 100+ of apps for Marketo, Reddit and other social media networks, right from your dashboard.
What I hate about Hootsuite
The message scheduling feature is too advanced for a small business owner who cares about customer acquisition and sales increase. I’m not a technical geek, so why should I try to figure out how to use a particular feature.
Although I’ve mastered its usage, but for the newbie, you may need to watch a short video in order to acquaint yourself with it or just follow the guide.
In this Sprout Social Vs. Hootsuite reviews, I’ve been able to clear the stumps off your part. If I were to recommend the right social CRM that I think will get you the best results, here’s what I’d say:
If you want to generate more leads, track those leads and build a relationship that would translate into sales, go with Hootsuite.
But if you want to take charge of your social media audience, and inspire them to refer more customers to your business; you also want clarity and simple to use software, I highly recommend Sprout Social.
The decision to buy any social media marketing solution is yours to make. My goal is to educate you and maybe inspire you to follow the same part that has brought me over 2800 qualified customers from twitter and LinkedIn. And all these happened within 5 months.
There is no overnight result anywhere. You’ve got to spend time on it because any action that would bring you closer to reaching your small business goal usually takes time.
That’s it for the sprout social vs. hootsuite comparison. I hope you’ve enjoyed it. See you ahead!
